The Safe Room, is founded and led by restaurateur Syed Aidid. His inspiration comes from modernist cuisine experts such as Heston Blumenthal, who uses unconventional and state of the art method such as molecular gastronomy into its menu. Syed Aidid believes in making molecular gastronomy affordable to everyone. He is also determined to introduce molecular gastronomy and its science into Malaysian food. His vision has led him to establish THE SAFE ROOM, which is the pioneer of liquid nitrogen in Malaysia. He is also proud in introducing Malaysia's first dragon's breath and nitrogen mocktails and other myriads of liquid nitrogen and molecular based cuisine in the region.
Supporting Syed Aidid is his partner in crime Candy Ang, who is behind all the fantastic dessert and ice cream recipe and the implementation of Syed Aidid's vision such as the infamous Coconut ice cream, durian ice cream and waffles. Her dedication, enthusiasm as well as warmness could be felt throughout the cafe.
Shereen Lee, the manager of the Safe Room leads the team of baristas, servers, ice cream artisans, chefs and cleaners and is responsible for the day to day operation of the cafe.
Head Chef Rafique, with a decade experience in fine dining background, leads the team of experienced chefs and kitchen crew, who are behind some of the tastiest and unique gastronomic experience in Penang.
